Denise McNulty, the brains behind Alamode Make Up & Hair, started out as a hairdresser before training as a make-up artist at the prestigious London College of Fashion. As well as offering wedding make-up services Denise has done lots of work for TV and editorial photoshoots, as well as fashion shows and hair shows, including designing make-up for the Clothes Show Live. Alamode Make Up & Hair won the hair and beauty category because the customers who voted strongly felt that owner Denise had that magical ability to completely transform them on their wedding day. Denise's service is adaptable in offering a totally individual service, however what gave Denise an edge was her creative designs, which incorporate classic, contemporary, retro and period styles - and everything in between.

Kevan Scott Goldsmith is a company that specialises in manufacturing jewellery, taking customers through the entire process from consultation and design to the finished article. What really made this company stand out from the crowd was the personal touch offered by staff, as well as their clear commitment to customer satisfaction. Kevan Scott's customers were also impressed that although the company had the feel of a family business they also had a thoroughly modern approach to the design process. Customers also praised the goldsmith's own range of jewellery designs.

Spud The Piper is one of the wedding industry's best known characters, partly thanks to his appearances on national television and in newspapers after serenading Madonna with his bagpiped version of 'Like A Virgin' when she arrived in Scotland for her wedding. But it wasn't Spud's celebrity connections that won over his customers, it was the wide range of musical styles he was willing to play and more generally his sheer musical talent - couples were simply bowled over by his obvious musicianship and highly toned performance skills.

There was a lot of stiff competition in this category, but all Parris Photographic Studio's customers agreed that husband and wife duo John and Sandra combine to make a dynamic team. The couple like to treat customers more like friends than clients and this approach certainly shone through in the comments made by those who voted. Couples noted that John and Sandra went out of their way to ensure that each and every guest was included in the photographs, which not only produced happy customers but also helped to encapsulate the unique atmosphere of each wedding.
