Official Competition Terms and Conditions

The contest sponsor(s) is/are: The Scottish Wedding Directory and VOWS Awards, (hereinafter collectively referred to as the “The Sponsors”)

Grand Prize Package

There is one Grand Prize to be won consisting of a seven day second honeymoon.

How to Participate

There are two (2) ways to participate in this contest:
You may enter by visiting www.vowsawards.co.uk and fully complete the VOWS Voting process and click “Enter” to submit your entry. Limit one (1) entry per person and/or e-mail address. No purchase necessary. You may enter by completing the entry form found in various Scottish industry business: “VOWS Awards” PO Box 7366, Glasgow, G51 9AP. Limit one (1) entry per postal address. No purchase necessary. Limit one (1) submitted entry per person, email or postal address. Any additional/duplicate entries will be disqualified and eliminated.

This Competition starts on 21 September, 2006, 12:01 AM and ends on 19 September 2007, 11:59 PM. The Sponsors accept no liability for printing errors on material distributed for this Competition nor will any responsibility be taken for technical, hardware, software or telephone failures of any kind, lost or unavailable network connections, fraud, incomplete, garbled or delayed computer transmissions, whether caused by the Sponsors, users or by any of the equipment or programming associated with or utilized in the promotion or by any technical or human error which may occur in the processing of submissions which may damage a user´s system or limit a participant´s ability to participate in the Competition. Sponsors reserve the right, in their sole discretion, to cancel or suspend this promotion should a virus, bug, computer problem, unauthorized human intervention or other cause beyond Sponsors´ control, corrupt the administration, security, fairness or proper play of the Competition. In the event of early termination of the Competition, a notice will be posted on-line and a random drawing to award all prizes will be conducted from among all eligible entries received prior to the time of termination. Sponsors reserve the right to modify the Competition or disqualify entrant if fraud, misconduct or technical failures destroy the integrity of the Competition as determined by the Sponsors, in its sole discretion. In the event of a dispute regarding any entry, the entry will be deemed made by the authorized account holder of the e-mail address submitted at the time of entry (i.e. the person who is assigned to an e-mail address by an Internet access provider, on-line service provider or other organization responsible for assigning e-mail addresses for the domains associated with the submitted e-mail address).

Eligibility

To enter and be eligible to win, a person must be a resident of the United Kingdom, and is only open to legal residents of United Kingdom who are residing in United Kingdom and who have reached the age of majority in their region of residence at the time of this Competition. The entrant must have gotten legally married in Scotland between 20 September, 2006 and 19 September, 2007. To be eligible for this Competition, on-line entries must be received on or before 20 September, 2007 11:59 PM. Incomplete or late entries will not be accepted. Employees of The Scottish Wedding Directory and VOWS Awards (the “Sponsors”), their partners, affiliates, divisions, subsidiaries, suppliers, printers, distributors, advertising and promotional agencies, immediate family members of each and anyone with whom such employees are domiciled, are not eligible to participate in this Competition.

How to Win

On Friday, 30 November, 2007, in Glasgow at 9:00AM, one (1) eligible entrant will be selected by random draw from all eligible entries received and will be eligible to win the Prize available in this Competition. Only one prize will be awarded per competition winner, household, family, group or organization. Starting Thursday, 30 November 2007, three (3) attempts will be made to contact all the entrants selected as eligible for the Prizes available to be won, at the telephone number or e-mail address on their Official Entry Form between 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM. If an entrant cannot be contacted within seven (7) days, he/she is no longer eligible to win and another entrant will be drawn and the process of contacting the new entrant will be repeated. No communication will be entered into except with the selected entrants. In order to be declared a winner, all selected entrants must complete and sign a Standard Release Form (see “General Rule” 17). The procedure outlined “How to Win” will be followed until the Prizes in this Competition have been awarded. The odds of winning depend on the total number of eligible entries received.

General Rules

All entries become the property of The Sponsors and none shall be returned. All decisions regarding this Competition and the selection of the winners remain with the Sponsors and their promotional agencies and are final.

Prizes must be accepted as awarded. No prize substitutions will be made, except for the right of the Sponsors to make a Prize substitution of equivalent or greater value in the event that a Prize is unavailable for reasons beyond the Sponsors' control. The Prizes may not be transferred, assigned or redeemed for cash. Entrants agree to abide by the contest rules and the decisions of The Sponsors, which are final. Prizes will be awarded and delivered to the confirmed winners by The Sponsors.

By entering, all the Prize Winners agree to sign a standard Release and Indemnity Form, releasing the Sponsors, their affiliates and respective advertising and promotional agencies from any liability in connection with this Competition or the Prize awarded. Failure on the part of the selected entrant to return the affidavit by the deadline as noted on the release form may result in disqualification of that person and an alternate winner will be selected from among all remaining eligible entries. In the event that the selected entrant and or their guest, as applicable, do/does not comply with all the provisions as contemplated in these rules, The Sponsors shall have the right to disqualify the selected entrant and/or their guest and draw an alternate selected entrant and The Sponsors shall be fully and completely released and discharged from any liability or responsibility in this regard.

By accepting a Prize in this Competition, the Prize Winners agree to hold the Sponsors, their affiliates, subsidiaries, advertising and promotional agencies, their respective directors, officers, employees and assigns, harmless from and against any and all claims and liability arising out of or in any way connected with the operation of this Competition and use of a Prize. The Prize Winners assume all liability for any injury or damage caused, or claimed to be caused, by participation in this Competition or use or redemption of a Prize. By participating in this Competition, entrants agree to be bound by the Official Competition Rules and Regulations and the decisions of the Competition judges.

By entering this Competition all entrants agree to the use of their name, address (city and region only), photograph, and/or image on videotape for publicity purposes, including a winner´s list, relating exclusively to this Competition without compensation. The Sponsors reserves the right to disqualify any individual that it finds to be violating these Official Competition Rules and Regulations, tampering with the entry process or tampering with the operation of the web site. The Sponsors reserves the right to refuse an entry from a person whose eligibility is in question or who has been disqualified or is otherwise ineligible to enter. Any attempt by anyone to deliberately alter or damage this web site and/or to undermine the legitimate operation of this promotion is in violation of criminal and civil laws and The Sponsors reserves the right to seek damages or other legal remedy to the fullest extent permitted by law.

The Sponsors reserve the right to modify or cancel this Competition in the event of technical corruption, virus, bugs, non-authorized human intervention or any other technical problems, which may arise from time-to-time beyond the control of The Sponsors destroying the integrity of this Competition. No liability or responsibility is assumed by The Sponsors resulting from user attempts to participate in this Competition or if required, download any information necessary to participate in this Competition. This Competition and the terms and conditions contained in these Official Competition Rules and Regulations, shall be exclusively governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United Kingdom. Any dispute arising hereunder shall be adjudicated solely in the applicable court in the United Kingdom.

Entrants hereby agree and consent to the collection of his/her personal information for the purposes of administrating this Competition unless the Entrant has lawfully consented to the use of their personal information for other purposes listed at the time of consent, as permitted by the Federal Personal Information Protection and Electronics Documents Act. Each of the Prize Winner´s information shall be disclosed to the Competition Sponsors and the independent Competition judging organization, specifically the Prize Winners´ name, mailing address, telephone number and/or e-mail address shall be disclosed as this information is required to award the Prizes for this Competition.

Where applicable, this Competition is subject to all national, regional and local laws.
